Self-Guided Tours and Room Hire

Bodelwyddan Castle & Park welcomes visits from education groups. Our free resources provide pre-visit information and offer a starting point for group activities.

Educational groups are encouraged to visit Bodelwyddan Castle & Park. We offer a warm welcome, free parking, a dedicated education room with WiFi, adventure play area, picnic tables, indoor toilet facilities and full visitor access to the historic rooms within the Castle and the adventure play area, formal gardens woodland walk, replica World War 1 practice trenches and more in our extensive grounds.

Self-Guided Tours

We offer a range of "ready-made" self-guided itineraries or you can create your own. Simply call us to discuss your requirements. Our free resources provide pre-visit information and offer a starting point for group activities.

Self-directed visits usually start after 10.30am.

For large self-directed groups (more than one class), we recommend dividing into smaller parties to explore the house and grounds. Our helpful staff can help you plan your day to make sure you get the most from your visit.

Education Room Hire

Our education room is available for hire and gives education groups the ideal base when visiting Bodelwyddan Castle & Park for a self-guided tour. The room features:

  • Plenty of natural daylight

  • Free WiFi

  • Interactive touch screen facility

  • Induction loop system

  • Flexible room layout, offering seating from less than 10 up to 30

  • Can be used on its own or for breakout sessions.

  • First floor location with lift access; three steps with handrail into the room

  • Dedicated and attentive staff to help your event run smoothly

Did you know?

Bodelwyddan Castle was a college for girls in the 20th century. Lowther College was thought to be first private college for girls in the UK to have its own swimming pool. It also had its own golf course!
