Join Hywel, our Environment Manager, for a fascinating woodland walk.
Our pastures and woodlands are rich in wildlife with special habitats created to encourage biodiversity. Pupils learn to identify mini beasts, where and how they live, what their ‘jobs’ are, and seasonal changes. Activities include minibeast hunt and identification, butterfly sweep netting, bird watching walks, mammal tracking.
This session can be tailored to your group's needs to include activities such as a mini-beast hunt in MiniBod's Little Kingdom (our interactive woodland glade for primary age children), building habitat piles, creating a bee hotel to take back to your school garden, bird/tree/insect/mammal spotting, and more.
If you would like to bring your class to Bodelwyddan Castle & Park please call us on 01745 584060 or email your request to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Did you know?
The soil at Bodelwyddan Castle & Park is relatively thin and rests on a layer of limestone rock. Lead mining took place in the 19th century here, and a line of shaft mounds can still just be seen.
